Patrick Brady

Patrick Brady, a principal with Next Generation Public Affairs, is an expert at moving the levers of government.  Patrick offers a unique combination of experience to guide the three P’s of government: Politics, Policy and Procurement.

A veteran of political campaigns at local, state and national levels, Patrick brings extensive experience to develop, oversee and manage effective client-advocacy strategies.  Patrick successfully organized targeted field and media initiatives at the Federal level to preserve funding for important military assets and, separately, oppose a new energy tax.  As Political Director for Americans for School Choice, Patrick helped targeted states across the country adopt school choice legislation.  More recently, Patrick served as Executive Director for Independent Maps, a non-partisan Ballot Initiative Committee, organized to change the way congressional districts are drawn.  From 2011 to 2015, Patrick served as President of We Mean Business PAC, a political action committee advocating for pension and budgeting reform.

In government, Patrick served as an aide to then-Governor Jim Edgar, advising the Governor on business and regulatory policy; as Commissioner of the Illinois Office of Banks and Real Estate, responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing regulatory policy governing real estate brokers, mortgage lenders and state-chartered banks and thrifts; and, as a Member of the Illinois State Board of Elections, responsible for administering elections in the State.

As an attorney in private practice, Patrick advised Fortune 500 companies in highly regulated industries on strategies to navigate banking, finance, real estate, gaming and legal cannabis laws and regulations. Patrick’s practice also included structuring and negotiating complex and innovative tax-exempt, real estate and leverage finance transactions.

When it comes to procurement, Patrick has an extensive background successfully helping some of the largest and most innovative enterprise technology companies develop and close business with Federal, state and local government entities.

Patrick holds degrees from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (Master of Business Administration), Loyola University Chicago School of Law (Juris Doctor) and the University of Wisconsin at Madison (Bachelor of Arts).

Patrick lives in North Carolina with his wife Chase and their five children.
